Traveling in the winter can be fun. Snow just seems to make everything festive around the holidays. Images of Bing Crosby or Rosemary Clooney singing in a snowy New England landscape comes to mind. For those open to getting outside, dressing appropriately and ready to get physical, the winter has so many opportunities for a good time. Skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, sleigh rides, and getting pulled by a sleddog team are just a few of the fun winter activities. Living in the central Sierra’s, I can travel no further than my front door to find these experiences. The next few months, I’ll be writing about some lesser known, and more wallet friendly places you can go that offer all the outdoor fun you can handle and then some. Believe me when I say, that after a day out in the snow, the hot cocoa by the fire and even a dip in some hot springs are just so much more sweeter than you can imagine. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow….
